British Association of Dental Nurses
13th June, 2008
You already know that it is the ONLY professional organisation representing dental nurses, but perhaps you think you aren’t eligible to join - because you aren’t qualified yet, or because you only work part time, or because you are now a tutor or a manager, or work in practice management or reception?

Perhaps you considered joining BADN, but put it off until another day and then forgot about it? Or joined for a year, and then never got round to renewing your membership? Maybe you thought you couldn’t afford it at the time?

As a dental nurse, time and money are important to you - you never have enough of either! New developments such as Statutory Registration, CPD, the NVQ ……… you keep meaning to find out about them, but don’t have the time, or know where to do to find out. If only there was one place where all this information could be found!

Somewhere you could get legal advice, information, advice and support …… somewhere to help you juggle work, family, social life, education …… and help you save money too!

BADN can help! Our quarterly Journal, the “British Dental Nurses’ Journal” keeps you up to date with what’s happening in dental nursing (and it’s free, as part of your membership package - cover price normally £3.95 an issue!). Our members’ CD-Rom (also part of your membership package) is chock full of information and can be updated regularly from the members-only area of our website. BADN members can get FREE legal advice from our Legal Helpline - on both employment and personal issues. Full Membership now includes professional indemnity insurance.
All dental nurses can join BADN - no matter where they work, whether they are qualified or not, full and part time. The Full membership fee is just £70 a year - around 20p a day! And there are special rates for student dental nurses, retired dental nurses, those working part time. Payment may be made by cheque, credit/debit card or Direct Debit. If you pay by Direct Debit, you can even divide your membership fee into two and pay half every six months!

'Following public consultation we have agreed that all dental care professionals (DCPs) will be required to complete and record 150 hours of continuing professional development every five years, a third of which should be verifiable (50 hours). We expect to introduce this requirement from July 2008 when registration will become compulsory for dental nurses and technicians.'
